If you're using public transport, you'll need to take a taxi or bus from Jesenice train station up to Planina pod Golico.  It's house number 28 near the far end of the village.  There is a bus that runs a few times a day from Jesenice: bus times (scroll down to 'inter-city transport'). Alternatively there are taxis outside the station on the right, or if you're really keen, its an hour and a half walk uphill from the train station to the chalet! If you're feeling richer, taxis from the airport can be arranged through various companies, such as 3Glav.

If you just want a week of relaxing, cycling or walking, then it would be possible to stay in the chalet without your own transport, but a car or bikes are recommended to fully appreciate all the sights around the area.

To get to Jesenice train station, take the direct train from Ljubljana or Villach (Austria).  Or from Ljubljana airport, take a bus to Kranj and then the train to Jesenice.  If you're coming overland from Italy or the coast, you can get the train from Nova Gorica through to Jesenice.  A very scenic route through the mountains and lakes.     Train times:  International or Local

Once you get back down to Jesenice, its easy to train and bus around the local areas.  There are some organised excursions - contact the tourist office for more info.

In the winter, there are ski buses in the morning from Bled to Kranjska Gora, Vogel and Kobla, but I'm afraid you might find it hard to get to Bled to catch them in time.
